  • 1 large Italian bread loaf about 16 inches
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 200 grams)
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted (about 60 grams)
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with chopped onion, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese into the warm beef mixture and mix until slightly melted and combined.
  4. Slice the Italian bread loaf lengthwise and hollow out the center, leaving a sturdy shell.
  5. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush evenly inside the hollowed bread.
  6. Spoon the beef mixture evenly into the prepared bread shell.
  7. Top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  9. Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley, let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
