Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Toss the sausages in a roasting pan with vegetable oil and bake for about 15 minutes until browned.
  3. Whisk together plain flour, eggs, and milk; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the batter over the sausages and bake for another 25 to 30 minutes.
  5. For the gravy, heat olive oil in a pan, add onions, and cook until caramelized.
  6. Stir in flour, gradually whisk in beef stock, apple cider vinegar, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, and season; simmer until thickened.
  7. Serve the Toad in the Hole from the oven, generously smothered with the onion gravy.
